somewhat sensitive against moisture therefore only seldom watering |

dry and bright at 8–10°C (46–50°F)
to constitute flowers requires the early blooming plants in late winter
and early springtime somewhat more of moisture |

globular, to 7 cm (2.7 in) Ø, blueish dull green, simple or clumping, crown dense wooly
tubercles in about 15–18 rows, about 6 mm high
about 20 radial spines, 1 cm (0.4 in) long, radial white
4 central spines, more than 2 cm (0.7 in) long, over cross, below white, above brown, black tips
1–3 additional spines, shorter
flowers about 2 cm (0.7 in) long, mellow violet pink |
