Growth period |
sunny and hot, but some differences to respect
1. with green, less spined shoots, are easy to cultivate,
should be protected before blazing sun in spring, after flower a sunny location
2. with stronger spined shoots, are some sensitive for to much watering, careful pouring
get a full sunny location
permanent moisture avoid, first watering in March
than constant pouring, but first after drying soil,
constant slightly moisture, to form buds
in early summer many watering, in mid summer and early fall sparse pouring
from late fall to spring absolutly dry |

at first with soft hairs Echinocereus
cylindrical, small, to 10 cm (3.9 in) long, 4.5 cm (1.7 in) Ø
ribs 21–22, flat
about 20 radial spines, about 0.2 cm (0.07 in) long, pectinate, pink-white
one upper spine to the center, to the crown upwardly, 0.1 cm (0.04 in) long
young plants with very fine and thin bristles,
on new areoles some bristles to 0.7 cm (0.2 in) and more long
flowers 7.5 cm (2.9 in) long, 8.5 cm (3.3 in)
Ø, 4–5 days open,
dark pink with purple glimmer, tubar with many white felt, with scales and bristles
